When my youngest son was born my second oldest goes "MOM! He is so squishy!!!" Well, so he got the nickname "Squishy", fast forward two years and they come out with Monsters University and they have a character named...you guessed it...SQUISHY! Koby goes, "Mom, he's Squishy and I'm Squishy, we both Squishy!!" It was beyond cute and I knew that we had to have a Monsters University themed birthday party. Since it was new I knew that it would be a challenge to get all of the items and stay within a reasonable budget...CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! I chose to buy a few main pieces and then incorporate three themed colors similar to what I did when he had his Nightmare Before Christmas 1st Birthday party. I lucked out and found Monsters University juice boxes and complexly described to the bakery how to make the "Sulley" cupcakes. He was beyond happy...and well that made me happy!

Iron Man and Avengers
What little boy doesn't like super heros? Definitely not my boys! They would wear costumes all day every day if they could! Heck I even buy extra when they get marked down after Halloween just to restock the costume bin. My middle son has adored Iron Man for as long as I remember so my goal was to make him the birthday party of his dreams while not breaking the bank. I scored big when I was cruisin the isles one night at Wally World and found piƱatas for only $5!! Yep just $5!! So I grabbed three and reinvented them for each of the boys birthday parties everyone loved them even the boys and no one even knew that they were original Cars themed!
The goodie bags were packed full of cool Iron Man and Avengers treats and toys and we even made super cool Iron Man masks. The party was a success! Who says moms can't be super heros?!
Star Wars themed Birthday party
Each year I watch for great deals on various party supplies so that I can stock up on all of the goodies for each of the three boys parties without breaking the bank. There are various party sites they often mark their items down for less than you can get generic theme items at the dollar store. My oldest just celebrated his 10th birthday and his theme was a Star Wars collaboration. It was a huge hit with the kids. You can find various "Star Wars" fonts online to download to make labels for the beverages and items for the party. Here is the end results...btw my childhood friend is an AMAZING cake maker and she makes all of the boys birthday party cakes. Enjoy!
